The University Police Department requests that members of the JSU community be vigilant and report any persons that may not belong on campus. Recent incident reports involve individuals who are not faculty, staff, or students. Please report any suspicious persons to UPD. In addition, please be on alert for any emails claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service. The contents of a recent “phishing scam” includes this statement;
After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $1009.30.Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 6-9 days in order to process it. A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons. For example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.To access the form for your tax refund, please click here

The Jacksonville State University Police Department is asking for your help in solving several recent vending machine vandalisms. The crimes occurred between July 21-22 in Daugette Hall and July 24-25 in the basement of Fitzpatrick Hall. The Vending machines were forced open and the cash boxes were emptied or removed.

Anyone having information about this incident should contact the Jacksonville State University Police Department investigator at 782-5709.
